Ahhh, social media. It is something that can really change the way we handle things, whether that thing is a party, a birthday, your opinion on politics, and divorce. Yes, that’s right, divorce. According to an article from CNN, there is a woman who is attempting to deliver summons to her husband in order to file for divorce through Facebook. Now, I see relationship fights on Facebook and other social media as it is, but just think of that possibility of filing for a divorce through Facebook how many more divorces could happen this way?
Anyways, for those of you who do not remember reading part 1 to this post, check that out here. So, now that you know what part 1 is about, why part 2? Well, even between then and now, the legal system is changing. Very slowly, but it is changing in order to reflect how powerful social media can be. It can turn a great day of being with friends into a nightmare if an embarrassing photo or video gets uploaded, which is the main plot for a new movie being released soon, Unfriended.
So what does all of this have to do with you and me? Again, remember that when you post something on social media, it is on the Internet. Everyone can read it or see it if they wanted to regardless of your privacy settings. If you want something private, then do not post it online. Simple as that everyone.
