Christmas Celebrations

Hello all, and a Merry Christmas to all of you! 🙂

This holiday season is certainly a time of giving presents, going to parties, and drinking some egg nog.

However, personally, I think this holiday season should also be a time of reflection. This reflection should have questions like “How are our relationships doing?” and “Where are we going to go from here in our lives?”. There are always things we can do to improve ourselves in order to not only benefit ourselves, but also benefit those who are around us: our friends, our family, and even random strangers.

Random strangers? How does improving ourselves benefit them?

I’m glad you asked! When we focus on bettering ourselves as people, we notice things around us that we may not have really taken notice before. That could include a soup kitchen nearby, the salvation army, the red cross, and many other charitable works throughout the USA as well as the world. All of these places work on helping people whom they don’t even know. It is a great way to give back those graces that we have given throughout our lives as well as put a smile on somebody’s face. I have worked in the soup kitchen around Christmas time for years, and seeing that smile on their face, especially a child’s face, just for a warm meal, is priceless. It really gives you a sense of true understanding of how fortunate you are compared to others.

Benefiting ourselves is also something that starts with goals. As with those “New Year’s Resolutions” that you say you’re going to do but never do, how about this year make a goal that is more realistic. Those goals will help motivate you to accomplish many achievements in your lives that while may seem small to you, they may certainly have a much larger impact on others in your life.

So, for this holiday season, give something to someone who you have never met before. A random stranger. That something can be your time, talent, or treasure. You would be amazed at how much it could impact somebody’s life for the better.

That’s all for now, until next time…keep that tech gear ticking.
